"Poetry & Rhymes" by William Hancock

“The Beast”

The Beast III

In our world today,
Freedom is not cheap.
Our children are sent away,
Fighting wars for the elite.

Such corruption everywhere,
As government grows stronger.
And the larger they become,
Little people are no longer.

The starving and hungry,
Always praying for something.
As the wealthy get wealthier,
They watch and do nothing.

The elections are meaningless,
It’s not we who’ve decided.
The people are deceived,
Blind to truth and divided.

A company of freeloaders,
What a horrible nasty breed.
Pretending to be somebody,
Full of misery and greed.

Liars and thieves,
Is all they truly are.
Empty shells of nothingness,
With a heart that pumps tar.

They play us for fools,
While striking their deals.
For those, they work for,
Who truly turn our wheels.

The Beast, it hungers,
For all that is you,
Till there’s nothing left,
And we truly are through.

No, freedom isn’t cheap,
It’s something we’re allowed.
So they can pick us clean,
And completely disemboweled.
